Lanin Volcano 3776 m – Patagonia

The Lanín Volcano is located in the province of Neuquen, to the west center of the national park of the same name. With its 3776 meters above sea level. It is the most important mountain in the area and stands out in the environment because it exceeds almost 2000 meters. to the surrounding mountains.

Day 01 First stage ascent to the refuge

Transfer to the Tromen Pass at the foot of the north face of the Lanin Volcano, where the park ranger station is located, control of the equipment of the members of the expedition. In the first stage, after ascending approximately 5/7 hours, we arrive at one of the mountain refuges located at 2350 m. Dinner and night in the shelter or in a tent. (Elevation gain 1150m)

Day 02 Very long day – Attempt to the summit.

From this point on, the walk is through permanent snowfields, the use of crampons and pegs is essential (prior advice on the use of crampons and ice axes will be given). Before noon you reach the summit of 3776 m (7 – 8 hours approximately). Descent to the area of the shelters and from there to the base (4 hours). (Ascent slope 1470m / Descent elevation 2626m)

Transfer back to San Martin de los Andes to the accommodation. End of our services.
