Maipo Volcano 5323m
The cone of Maipo and its reflection in the blue waters of a high mountain lake conform a powerful image, that honors the name of the place, Laguna del Diamante .This 5323 m volcano offers one of the best non-technical climbs in the Central Andes, for the landscape and for the unique wildlife that thrives here, protected by a State Reserve. Guanacos, condors and migratory birds are a permanent company along the trip.
Itinerary
Duration 5 days
Day 1 Travel in 4x4 vehicles from Mendoza to Laguna del Diamante Natural Reserve (3,200m/10,500ft). Base camp.
Day 2 Trekking from Base Camp to Camp 1.
Day 3 Trekking Camp 1- Camp 2.
Day 4 Summit day. Night at Camp 2.
Day 5 Trekking Camp 2- Base Camp where a vehicle will be waiting to drive us to San Carlos and Mendoza. Farewell dinner in Mendoza (cost not included).

Not included Roundtrip private transportation from Mendoza to Cordon del Plata. Any additional costs if the climber chooses to change the itinerary of the excursion.
