Nestled in the foothills at a relatively low altitude (1800 mts.) and only 75 km from Mendoza, the small town of El Salto offers an excellent opportunity for single-pitch rock climbing and great scenery, including views of the 6000 meter peaks of the Cordón Del Plata mountain range and Lake Potrerillos, a beautiful mountain desert oasis.
