Guided Multi-Pitch Sport Climbing

Full Day (Multi day excursiones available)

Arenales
Located 130 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Mendoza at 2500 meters of elevation, Arenales is one of the most popular destinations for climbers in Argentina because of the quality of its granite, its cracks and spires up to 500 meters tall, and its ample variety of well-equipped sport routes of 1 to 6+ pitches. Camping is comfortable, and being surrounded by granite walls and spires makes it easy to enjoy the excellent high-mountain scenery. Arenales is an ideal location for climbing, mountaineering, trekking, and fishing.

Itineraries

We begin with a short drive from Mendoza to Tunuyán (Manzano Histórico). Then we continue the ascent from Manzano Histórico toward Refugio Portinari (a primitive shelter for camping), arriving at “Arenales” at 2500 meters of elevation. A 30-minute trek takes us to the base of the wall called “La Mitria” and we begin the ascent of 100+ meters, depending on the chosen itinerary. Halfway up the wall we stop on a large ledge system to enjoy lunch and the incredible view. After lunch we will finish the climb and descend via rappel to the base of the wall.
